Public Notice – Kent Gardens, Birchington
Temporary Road Closures – Kent Gardens, Birchington (Thanet) – from 4 October 2021
Phased closures of sections of Kent Gardens, Birchington are planned from Monday 4 October 2021, with estimated completion by 5 November 2021.
Closures are in sections, to the actual extent shown on site at any time.
Phase 1 – Kent Gardens will be closed from the junction with Rutland Gardens to and including the junction with Sussex Gardens / Surrey Gardens
Sussex Gardens and Surrey Gardens will be closed at their junctions with Kent Gardens at certain times as the works progress, with access to each road continuing from its other junction
Phase 2 – Kent Gardens will be closed from the junction with Sussex Gardens / Surrey Gardens westwards, to the extent shown
Prospect Road and Devon Gardens will be closed at their junctions with Kent Gardens at certain times as the works progress, with access to each road continuing from its other junction
The overall alternative route for all through traffic is via A28 Canterbury Road, The Square, Station Road and Minnis Road
Local access to the remainder of Kent Gardens and other side roads will be maintained when it is safe to do so, but there are likely to be delays and certain times when this is not possible for safety reasons.
The closures are to enable SGN Gas to carry out gas mains replacement works.
Due to the nature of the works, it will not be possible to re-open the roads outside the working hours.
The planned dates and duration may change for various reasons including, with any changes signposted on site and notified locally.
