Unfortunately there has been a further spate of graffiti and vandalism to the new Children’s Play Park at the Memorial Recreation Ground. Our handyperson spent over 3 hours at the weekend removing the obscene graffiti and drawings from all items of equipment. So far, he has been unable to remove the graffiti on the wooden benches (see attached photographs).
This Play Park is for the use of children under 10. They and their parents should not be subjected to these obscenities. Also, the hand wash was broken into for the second time – previously it was broken into and two bottles of sanitiser were stolen. As you will see from the photographs those doing the graffiti have used their tags and their names. This further incident has been reported to the Police. CCTV will be installed in due course. However, all of this, and the cleaning, comes at a cost to the Council Tax payers of Birchington. If you know who is responsible for the graffiti please let the Parish Office know (details below) so that they can be reported to the relevant authorities.
